Marketing and Communications Associate
B71 SCAPS · Social Media Management
The problem
Duration: Now - Dec 2027 (can be discussed). Working arrangement: Hybrid. Expected commitment: Min. 6 hrs/week. Key responsibilities: Content & Social — manage the Instagram/LinkedIn calendar, draft and schedule content to the startup community, identify storytelling angles around our startups and founders. On-Ground Capture — be the lens of the community, capture photos and videos at events, cohort onboarding days, and community gatherings. Fast-Turnaround Editing — edit short-form video content (using CapCut/Adobe tools) for social pushes. Design & Creative — create sharp, consistent digital assets for events and campaigns using Canva. Campaign Support — assist with comms for workshops, cohort announcements, and student outreach campaigns. Job requirements: content strategy & planning; visual production in photography and videography; digital editing proficiency (CapCut or basic Adobe Suite for fast-turnaround); design & brand consistency (Canva, adhering to brand standards). Challenge: Develop a repeatable content series that tells the stories of B71's startup and student founder community. The initiative should give audiences a reason to follow B71 beyond event publicity, while being realistic for a small team (1-2 people max) to produce consistently. The format is open — e.g. a podcast/interview series, founder features, short-form video series or another recurring concept — but it should be designed to continue beyond a single campaign. Note: Be realistic but creative with themes and concepts! Don't be boring.
What you produce
Develop a detailed content series plan covering: Concept & audience — series idea, objectives, target audience & why it would resonate. Content format — recurring structure, topics/themes, platforms & publishing cadence. Execution — how each instalment would be sourced, filmed/designed, edited and published. Content rollout — how one feature can be repurposed across Instagram, LinkedIn and other relevant channels. Sample creative — produce/mock up one instalment, including key visuals and copy (use Canva/Adobe or any other relevant application/software). Continuation plan — a practical workflow/template that allows B71 to keep the series running consistently. Focus on building a recognisable, sustainable B71 content property, not a one-off post or campaign.
