Improving Water Treatment Efficiency Through Operational Data Analytics

BlueNexus · Data Science and Data Analytics · Website

The problem

Water treatment plants generate large amounts of operational data, including flow, pressure, energy use, chemical dosing, equipment status and water quality. However, identifying inefficient or abnormal operation can still depend heavily on manual monitoring and operator experience. Problem statement: How can BlueNexus use operational data to identify inefficient or abnormal plant operation and provide early insights that help reduce energy, chemical and water consumption while maintaining treatment performance?

What you produce

- Identify operational variables that are most relevant to plant efficiency and performance. - Analyse historical data to identify normal and abnormal operating patterns. - Develop an analytical, statistical or machine-learning approach for early detection of performance degradation. - Recommend practical indicators, thresholds or alerts that could support plant operators. - Show how the findings could be presented through a simple dashboard or decision-support concept.
